Subject: Prioritizing Safe Pipeline Development

Prioritizing pipelines and unleashing domestic energy transmission is vitally important to our nation and our Commonwealth. This is particularly the case considering the recent incident where an alternative method of transportation would have prevented the recent negative impact on our environment and citizens.

According to the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration, the United States has 2.6 million miles of transportation pipelines that are responsible for distributing energy.  This interconnected network of pipelines delivers critical energy products in a safe and efficient manner. Oil and gas pipelines have proven viability and reliability and are essential to achieving our country’s goals of energy independence.

This resolution will implore the Biden administration to support the development of pipelines, the most reliable and innocuous method of transporting energy.

Pipeline infrastructure provides citizens and industries with access to reliable and affordable energy.  This method of transport is cost-efficient and reflects low energy consumption when compared with alternative transference options.

With the looming threats of weather inconsistencies and international uncertainty, the time is now to advocate for expanded energy connectivity, reliability, and availability.  By promoting the expansion and utilization of domestic pipelines, we can provide greater accessibility and energy stability for future generations.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this important resolution to support domestic energy.
