Subject: | Increasing the Restaurant Licensee Discount |
Hit hard by pandemic shutdowns, our bars and restaurants have continued to struggle with the aftereffects of COVID-19. As inflation grows and liquor licensees see higher prices everywhere, we must take long-term action to address their concerns and support our local economies. My legislation would do just that by increasing the current liquor licensees discount for purchases from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board (PLCB) from ten percent to fifteen percent. Under the bill, liquor licensees would see a significant cost reduction when purchasing from the PLCB, leading to more money saved and more business growth. As legislators, it is our duty to support our constituents in any way we can. We can no longer ignore the plight that our liquor licensees are facing – we must take action. Please join me in supporting our community establishments by providing some much-needed relief in the face of a continuing global pandemic. |
