Subject: Reducing Cost Barriers to Abortion
 
Abortion is healthcare and healthcare is a human right. Therefore, people should not be prevented from receiving abortion services due to cost. At a time when reproductive freedom is under attack, we should be doing everything we can to reduce barriers to abortion care here in Pennsylvania.

As such, my bill will require insurance companies to provide abortion services without imposing a deductible, coinsurance, copayment, or any other cost-sharing requirement. This bill will be based on California Senate Bill 245, which became law this past spring, and will ensure that cost is not a barrier to this important and time sensitive healthcare procedure.
