Subject: School Armed Guard Protection Act
 
In the coming days, I will be offering legislation to enhance security for our students across Pennsylvania. This legislation will require an armed guard to be present in each school building during school hours and after school activities. Additionally, each school building will be required to designate one primary entrance and exit for students, employees, parents and visitors to enter and exit the building.
 
These proposed security measures are similar to those found in public buildings across the country, and right here in Harrisburg. Our students deserve the same level of protection and security that is afforded to public officials across the Commonwealth. Please join me in cosponsoring this important piece of legislation to enhance security and help protect our students.
