Subject: Study on the Office of Developmental Programs
 
In the near future, we plan to introduce legislation to instruct the Joint State Government Commission to conduct a study on the Office of Developmental Programs.
 
We have seen the challenges and obstacles faced for those individuals and their families living with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism.  While we’ve come a long way providing services to this population, we believe we need to re-examine the barriers in the delivery of those services.
 
The study will look at waiver services, housing options, transportation, community participation supports and workforce development to ensure these services are being inclusive, offering choice to the families and expanding in areas where there is a need.
 
Please join us in cosponsoring this legislation.
