Subject: | Retirement System Reform - Susquehanna River Basin Commission |
. In the near future, I will be introducing legislation that will remove all FUTURE employees of the Susquehanna River Basin Commission from the State Employees Retirement System. We are all aware that our two pension systems remain in deep trouble and this would be a small step toward rectifying the problem. SRBC employees are not state employees. SRBC is having to pay a significant portion of their budget to pay for their SERS costs. This would help them and our municipalities lower the costs of the SRBC. This legislation passed the House TWICE in the last TWO sessions but has yet to be considered by the Senate. Please join me in co-sponsoring this legislation that takes a small step toward fixing our ongoing pension problem. Prior co-sponsors include: Cutler, Grove, Heffley, Irvin, Kauffman, Keefer, Millard, B. Miller, Moul, Pickett, Ryan, Sankey, Saylor, and Zimmerman. . |
