Subject: | Essential Business List Legislation |
During the COVID-19 lockdown, many of the business that we consider to be life sustaining were shut down. Even businesses that were considered to be essential by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, were shut down by this administration. This is unacceptable and should not happen again. That is why I will soon introduce legislation that will require the Governor to use the Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce advisory list developed by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in determining whether a business is life-sustaining in response to a disaster emergency. If our U.S. Department of Homeland Security has determined that certain businesses are essential the Federal level, then they should be considered essential at the state level as well. Please join me in cosponsoring this legislation to protect our businesses. |
