Subject: | Honorable Roy W. Wilt Bridge & Interchange Designation |
In the near future, we plan to introduce legislation to honor the former State Representative and Senator Roy W. Wilt for his service to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. From 1968 to 1981, the Honorable Roy W. Wilt served as a Republican House member. He was then elected to the Pennsylvania State Senate in a special election and held that position until 1990. During his tenure in the Senate, he was elected, Senate Majority Caucus Secretary (1989-1990), appointed to the Joint Legislative Air and Water Pollution Control and Conservation Committee (1981-1988) and appointed to the board of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (1981-1990). After leaving the Senate, he was appointed to the State Ethics Commission (1993-1998) and appointed Chair of the Pennsylvania Harness Racing Commission (2004-present). During Senator Wilt’s time with the legislature, he introduced legislation that brought about the construction of the Route I73 Interchange which created an easier transportation infrastructure for his constituents. Please join us in honoring the Honorable Roy W. Wilt for his legislative accomplishments that still positively impact our constituents today. |
