Subject: Expanding Property Tax Relief for Disabled Veterans

Under current law, a disabled veteran in Pennsylvania may only receive a full property tax exemption on their primary residence if the veteran is 100% disabled as a result of wartime service and in need of financial assistance. This excludes many 100% disabled veterans who do not fulfill the wartime service requirement.

To rectify this, I am introducing legislation that will amend the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to extend a full property tax exemption to disabled veterans regardless of wartime service. This will allow all veterans who are determined to be 100% disabled by the United States Veterans Administration due to an injury or disease that is related to their service and who are in financial need to receive the property tax exemption.

It is important to honor the hard work and sacrifice of all veterans and their families, particularly those who have been disabled as a result of their service. I hope you will help provide the property tax relief they deserve by co-sponsoring this critical piece of legislation.
