Subject: | Administrative change for Special Occasion Permits |
Special occasion permits are a significant means of fundraising for various organizations who often rely on donations and fundraising to stay afloat. Often non-profits such as churches work with managing companies and organizers to plan large fundraising. However current law prohibits managing companies, planners, organizers, etc. from completing a vital part of their job: managing the funds. As such, my legislation will address this inefficiency by allowing an organization operating in conjunction with an eligible entity to collect and manage the revenue so long as the eligible entity is the primary host of the event and the funds raised are being used for a charitable purpose. This minor, administrative change would allow eligible entities to partner with larger organizations and greatly increase the efficiency of the event and potentially raise more revenue for charitable purposes.
