Subject: | Family Medical Leave for Pennsylvanians |
Pennsylvania workers should never be forced to choose between caring for a sick loved one or their job. Their families should not be left to suffer because their parent, child, or sibling cannot take time off work. We can do more to support Pennsylvania families by providing quality healthcare and job security. The COVID-19 pandemic has shown the desperate need for this important leave. For this reason, I am reintroducing House Bill 1435, which creates the Pennsylvania Family and Medical Leave Act. My bill will provide up to six weeks of protected, unpaid leave for employees caring for a grandparent, parent, sibling, or grandchild with a certified terminal illness. This bill is a crucial step to ensure that all Pennsylvanians can care for a family member when the unthinkable happens and not fear for the loss of their job. Let’s give our families one less difficult decision to make. Please join me in co-sponsoring the Pennsylvania Family and Medical Leave Act. |
