Subject: Sergeant Carl Roof Memorial Bridge
 
In the near future, I will introduce legislation to honor Sergeant Carl Roof.

The bill will designate the bridge on a portion of State Route 4001 over Crooked Creek in Indiana County as the Sergeant Carl Roof Bridge.

A native of Armstrong Township, Sergeant Roof served during World War II. He suffered as a prisoner of war for 11 months before returning home to Indiana County.

Sergeant Roof, who passed away at the age of 98, resided near this bridge.
