Subject: Co-Sponsorship: Resolution that designates the Week of April 18, 2021 through April 24, 2021 as “Infertility Awareness Week in Pennsylvania"
 
In 1974, RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association began its mission to address the public health issue of infertility. Raising awareness about infertility is a goal that we should support for the citizens of our great Commonwealth. Awareness helps individuals and couples cope with their infertility because infertility affects both men and women of all ages. For instance, latest statistics show that 1 in 8 couples experience pregnancy loss or difficulties in becoming pregnant. These difficulties can stem from age, genetics, and medical history but, in many cases, the origins of infertility are painfully unknown.

With that said, in the coming days, I plan to introduce a Resolution that designates the Week of April 18, 2021 through April 24, 2021 as “Infertility Awareness Week in Pennsylvania” in conjunction with the “National Infertility Awareness Week.”

As policymakers, friends, and relatives of persons likely affected by infertility, I encourage each of you to join me in co-sponsoring this Resolution. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Takesha Latham in my Harrisburg office at via email at tlatham@pahouse.net.
