| Subject: | Legislation: Unborn Child Dignity legislation |
| In the near future, I plan to reintroduce legislation that will establish requirements for the final disposition of the remains of unborn children after their demise (former HB1890). The Unborn Child Dignity Act will allow parents the final decision making authority over the remains of their child even if it is lost prior to birth. I have spoken openly about the loss my wife and I suffered when we lost our unborn child. This bill is substantially similar to Indiana legislation which had been declared constitutional by the United State Supreme Court. Ohio also passed substantially similar legislation in 2020. In my legislation, this creates a stand-alone act which will provide for a respectful internment of these innocent lives which have been lost.
