MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 4, 2020 12:13 PM
From: Representative Gary Day
To: All House members
Subject: Personal Protective Equipment Stockpile

In the near future, I plan to re-introduce legislation requiring a program to have a continual stockpile of personal protective equipment, or PPE, available for our long-term care facilities.

As COVID-19 ravaged the long-term care facilities, accounting for the majority of PA casualties, I have heard from many long-term care providers that accessing and purchasing PPE remained one of the biggest challenges during the pandemic.

My legislation will require a stockpile of PPE housed at various locations within the state to provide participating facilities in the program PPE accessibility for their protection needs.

It is imperative that we take all action necessary to protect our seniors living in long term care facilities and the staff members who serve them by eliminating facility PPE dependency from other sources.

Please join me in cosponsoring this important piece of legislation.

Introduced as HB1610
