MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 1, 2020 04:41 PM
From: Representative Lori A. Mizgorski
To: All House members
Subject: Bridge Naming – CDR. William J. Schofield, III

It is my intention to introduce legislation to designate a bridge, identified as Bridge Key 1951, carrying SR 4017 on Wetzel Road, Shaler Township, Allegheny County, as the CDR. William J. Schofield, III Bridge.

I would like to memorialize CDR. Schofield, III for his service to our county as a Sailor within the Navy during World War II and Korea, as well as for his dedication to the students, community members and veterans of Southwestern Pennsylvania.

CDR. Schofield touched the lives of many through his volunteer and community service. He was a member of the executive committee of the Greater Pittsburgh Advisory Board of the Salvation Army, a trustee and past president of the Pennsylvania School Boards Association, a past vice president and board member of the Mental Health Association of Allegheny County,  a board member of the Kiwanis Club of Glenshaw, a former president of the Shaler Area school board, a board secretary of the Institute for Research, Education and Training in Addictions, and a member of the Allegheny County Local Emergency Planning Committee and the Pennsylvania State Association of County Directors of Veterans Affairs.

Please join me in honoring CDR. William J. Schofield, III. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
