Subject: | Mechanical Insulation Installation Tax Credit |
In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation to incentivize the energy efficient installation of mechanical insulation for commercial and industrial projects. Specifically, my legislation will provide a tax credit equal to 30% of the total capital investment, including amounts paid to purchase mechanical insulation and associated labor, made by a company to install mechanical insulation on a commercial or industrial property within the Commonwealth in adherence with the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (“ASHRAE”) minimum requirements. This tax credit would be limited in its scope, in that it can only be used to offset a portion of corporate net income tax liabilities, and it cannot be carried forward, back, used to obtain a refund, or be sold or assigned. Through this effort, I believe we will encourage vital sectors of our economy to adopt paramount standards in constructing a “healthy and sustainable built environment for all” Pennsylvanians to enjoy and prosper. I respectfully ask for your consideration to join me as a co-sponsor of this legislation. |
