Subject: | September 14, 2020 as "Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Memorial Day" in PA |
In the near future, we will be introducing a resolution designating September 14, 2020, as “Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Memorial Day” in Pennsylvania. This resolution remembers and honors the EMS personnel who have died in the line of duty in Pennsylvania and recognizes the ultimate sacrifice they made for our citizenry. Since 2013, sixty-one (61) EMS personnel have been honored for making the ultimate sacrifice during the performance of their duties. And unfortunately we will be adding to that list two more first responders who died this year -- Paramedic Theodore Dybus of the Veterans Ambulance Service in Northern Cambria and Paramedic Supervisor Matthew Smelser of the Rostraver West Newton Emergency Services. On September 14th, the Pennsylvania EMS Provider Foundation plans to hold their annual EMS Memorial Day service at 11:00 a.m. at the East Wing Fountain. Please join us in sponsoring this resolution for this important occasion. |
