Subject: COSPONSOR MEMO - Reimbursement Parity for Chiropractors
 
Dear Colleagues –
 
Several chiropractors in my district have brought a long-standing situation to my attention.  Both Medicaid and private insurers utilize coding systems to reimburse medical professional for patient procedures.  Currently, chiropractors are be reimbursed at rates substantially lower than other medical professionals for the exact same procedures. 
 
This legislation, similar to a proposal from Senator Argall, will change existing law to ensure medical professionals will receive the same remuneration for the same treatment, regardless of whether the procedure is performed by a chiropractor or another medical professional.
