MEMORANDUM

Posted: July 7, 2020 03:11 PM
From: Representative MaryLouise Isaacson
To: All House members
Subject: Co-sponsorship request-Authorize Further Development of Penn’s Landing

The Penn’s Landing area along the waterfront of the Delaware River has been a space utilized and maintained by the City of Philadelphia for decades. As the City is undertaking redevelopment of this area it is important that further development of this area continue in an unhindered, uniform, and modern fashion.

I plan to introduce legislation which will authorize the Department of General Services, with the approval of the Governor and the Department of Environmental Protection, to act as necessary to aid in further development plans for Penn’s Landing. Specifically, the current leases the City has with The Commonwealth do not conform with the standards and practices uniformly used in today’s leases.  Moreover, this legislation would provide the Department of General Services with the flexibility to reexamine and adjust existing leases as needed to keep them consistent with leases that are created in the future.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this simple, commonsense piece of legislation allowing for further development in the City of Philadelphia.  Your consideration is greatly appreciated.
