Subject: | Moratorium of Commercial Property Evictions |
We are all familiar with small businesses in our districts that have been forced to close or operate at a reduced capacity. During these difficult times, we need to stand with our local businesses and provide structure and certainty so they can have a chance to recover. One such way to help ease concerns is to place a moratorium on all commercial real property evictions.
In order to help our small and local businesses, I will be introducing legislation which would place a moratorium on all commercial real property evictions during the COVID-19 Crisis and through December 31, 2020. The legislation would halt all current eviction cases and prohibit new cases from being filed.
We cannot allow these businesses to close permanently because of the loss of a storefront, office space, or a manufacturing facility. I ask that you support this legislation and support Pennsylvania businesses as we move forward from COVID-19. Please join me in sponsoring this legislation to support our small businesses. |
