Subject: Making Temporary House Rules Permanent for Committee Votes
 
We have proven our ability to operate remotely during this health disaster declaration. As such, I believe it is important for us to consider how we conduct committee meetings during a non-emergency, non-session week as we move forward.

For these reasons, I plan to introduce a House Resolution to make permanent the temporary rules we have adopted, as they pertain to committee participation and voting, during a non-emergency, non-session week.  Adopting permanent rules that allow for remote committee attendance, participation and voting during non-emergency, non-session weeks would most importantly save taxpayer dollars, but also increase flexibility for members. 

As members of the “People’s House,” I hope you will join me in co-sponsoring this resolution to increase efficiency and effectiveness.  Your consideration is greatly appreciated.
