Subject: Allowing Flags to be Shipped
 
I am introducing legislation that will require the Secretary of the Department of Community and Economic Development to issue a waiver to the Governor’s order to allow flag manufacturers, distributors, and flag stores to open.
During the period between Memorial Day and the Fourth of July, Pennsylvanians place hundreds of thousands of flags on the graves of their departed loved one and Veteran heroes.
In fact, Pennsylvania law, under the County Code, requires the placement of flags on graves even as we are currently restricting the domestic manufacture and distribution of American flags.
