|Subject:||Lifesharing Awareness Month - October 2020|
|I plan on reintroducing a resolution recognizing October 2020 as "Lifesharing Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania. Lifesharing services provide people with intellectual disabilities a place to live with supportive members of a household. This opportunity helps develop close personal relationships and encourages individuals with intellectual disabilities to make good life choices that lead to safe and satisfying lives. Individuals who live with foster parents through the Children and Youth services are able to continue living in the same home under Lifesharing when they turn 21. This is a better option both socially and financially for all parties involved, providing consistency and continuity of care.
Please join me supporting this resolution.
