MEMORANDUM

Posted: April 28, 2020 07:49 PM
From: Representative Martina A. White
To: All House members
Subject: Attorney General Concurrent Jurisdiction With District Attorneys

In the near future, I intend to introduce legislation that will allow the Attorney General’s Office to have concurrent jurisdiction with a district attorney for any felony offense under Title 18 (Crimes Code).

The Attorney General may obtain concurrent jurisdiction by making a request in writing and simply having the district attorney accept it. In the event the district attorney fails to accept the request, the Attorney General must send an additional request in writing. This would permit the assistance of the Attorney General in prosecuting large scale felony cases in counties which may have little experience in doing so.

Please join me in co-sponsoring in this legislation.
