Subject:	Saving Lives by Protecting our Food Supply Chain

Nothing is more terrifying during this crisis than the idea of not being able to get food for our families. We have always taken for granted that our grocery stores would be well-stocked, and dinner would be on the table.  Our essential workers in the agriculture and food industries are going to work to keep us fed, but in our food processing plants hundreds of people have been infected, and many plants have closed temporarily – meaning Pennsylvanians may start going hungry. We need to help these workers and these employers. My Food Processing Plant Reimbursement Program will help the Department of Agriculture help these vital food sources protect their workers and maintain our food supply. The program will help pay for Personal Protective Equipment and better, more frequent cleaning.  Not only will this program help make sure we have enough food it is also the right thing to do for the brave essential workers that staff these facilities.   Please join me in this fight against COVID-19 and hunger.
