Subject: | Business Interruption Insurance Reimbursement |
Maintaining a business during the COVID-19 pandemic means overcoming unprecedented challenges. Insurance companies will be faced with a staggering number of claims against business interruption polices carried by many Pennsylvania businesses. We need to ensure that we are supporting insurance companies and all businesses during the recovery from this crisis. My resolution urges the Congress of the United States to pass legislation affording reimbursement to insurance companies for claim payments made on business interruption claims resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. These companies have an existing vehicle in place for identifying and paying claims to save Pennsylvania businesses in this trying time. Pennsylvania families and the economy of this Commonwealth rely on the health and prosperity of our businesses. Keeping them afloat during these unprecedented times is paramount to maintaining both. Please join me in supporting this important measure. |
