Subject: | Resolution Recognizing May 10-16, 2020 as “National Women’s Health Week” |
There are significant gaps in women’s health research relating to stroke, heart failure, clinical trials for new medication and medical devices, lung cancer, and several health issues that are unique to women. Historically, women have been underrepresented in health research. Across the country, “National Women’s Health Week” is celebrated to remind women to build positive health habits for life, encouraging regular health provider visits, preventative screenings, vaccines, physical activity, eating healthy, and paying attention to mental health. Therefore, my resolution will designate the week of May 10 – 16, 2020, as “National Women’s Health Week” in Pennsylvania. As stewards of public health, it is my hope that you will join me in this collective effort to further promote and protect the health and well-being of all Pennsylvania women. Your consideration is greatly appreciated. |
