For many Pennsylvanians, 814 is more than just an area code. It is home. The area code stretches across 27 counties and includes municipalities such as Erie, DuBois, Punxsutawney, State College, Altoona, and Johnstown. In honor of the 814 region, August 14 has been designated “814 Day” and provides residents an opportunity to celebrate their communities with pride. This year, “814 Day” coincides with the first day of “CelebrateErie,” a three-day festival designed to bring the community together for a regional showcase of all things Erie. I wish to recognize this tradition of community appreciation across the entire 814 region. To achieve this, I plan to introduce a resolution commemorating August 14, 2020, as “814 Day” in Pennsylvania. It is my hope that the day will bring together families, friends, and neighbors in the spirit of regional pride. As Pennsylvanians, we must all come together to take pride in our communities. Please join me in spreading support of “814 Day” across the state by signing on as a co-sponsor. |
