|Subject:||Resolution directing the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee (LBFC) to study the costs of Prevention and Early Intervention Programs|
|I plan to circulate a resolution that would direct the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee (LBFC) to complete a study about the costs and benefits of prevention and early intervention programs for the children and youth in Pennsylvania.
This resolution would request the LBFC to investigate the cause of serious problems our youth face including violence, crime, substance abuse and neglect. With this information, we can determine the effectiveness of prevention and early intervention programs that could be implemented and funded by the state. All recommendations and data will be utilized to determine an approach that can best benefit and assist our youth.
Please join me as a co-sponsor to further investigate accessibility and statistical data about the costs and benefits of prevention and early intervention programs for children in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
