Subject: | Designating the week of February 24 through 28, 2020 as “Public Schools Week” in Pennsylvania |
Today, nine out of 10 students in America attend a public school. The challenges faced in the nation’s public schools by the school professionals and the students are growing in the fast paced, ever changing, educational environment of current times. I recognize that providing a well-rounded and complete curriculum while creating joy in learning is an expertise due high praise and recognition. It is important to prioritize the need to assure student success and to support the strengthening of public education and education leaders who bring the issues that public schools face daily to the forefront. Please join me in designating the week of February 24 through 28, 2020 as “Public Schools Week” in Pennsylvania. Public Schools Week is a designated week for administrators, teachers, specialists, teacher educators, parents and school board members to host events for their communities and reach out to lawmakers, businesses, and other community members to discuss the importance of public education.
