House of Representatives
Session of 2019 - 2020 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 22, 2020 11:59 AM
From: Representative Karen Boback
To: All House members
Subject: National Missing Children's Day - May 25, 2020

In the near future I will be introducing a resolution recognizing May 25, 2020 as “National Missing Children’s Day.”

This will be the 37th year since President Reagan proclaimed May 25 as National Missing Children’s Day. Since 1983, the Department of Justice and other organizations have dedicated this day to encouraging caregivers and members of the community with making child safety a priority. This day also serves as a reminder of the children that are missing, and to continue efforts to reunite them with their family.

According to the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC), there were more than 420,000 missing children reports in 2019. My resolution would encourage local governments, communities, and law enforcement in the Commonwealth to continue protecting children and educating children about abduction.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this resolution.
