Subject: Resolution - "Catholic Schools Week" in Pennsylvania - January 26 to February 1, 2020
 
I will soon be introducing a resolution designating the week of January 26 through February 1, 2020, as “Catholic Schools Week” in Pennsylvania.

The theme this year is continues to be “Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.” It is important to recognize the significant role Catholic schools play in our education system. Through striving for academic excellence, promoting positive spiritual values and teaching commitment to serving the needs of others, all the while instilling leadership skills, these students become well-equipped to manage the academic and societal challenges they will face as they pursue gainful employment or a college career. Various statistics have supported these facts, and I believe we should recognize Catholic schools’ contributions to the improvement of our Commonwealth.
