|In the near future, we plan to introduce a resolution that will designate January 2020 as "Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month" in Pennsylvania.
Pennsylvania’s diverse geography creates a beautiful backdrop for outdoor recreation. Each week, tens of thousands of winter enthusiasts migrate to the Pennsylvania mountains to ski and snowboard, enjoying a variance of more than 21 ski resorts dotted across the Commonwealth. Not only do these resorts provide exceptional winter fun, they also contribute a significant economic impact throughout our communities and across our state.
Participating in a snow sport provides a unique opportunity for exercise and fostering friendships that will last a lifetime. “Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month” also encourages both children and adults to learn more about snow sports by taking lessons from professional instructors. The Pennsylvania Ski Areas Association, The Snow Sports Industries of America, the Professional Ski Instructors of America, American Association of Snowboard Instructors, National Ski Areas Association, and Cross Country Ski Areas Association have united to offer an affordable “Learn to Ski and Snowboard” program that will open the door to the wonderful world of skiing and snowboarding for winter enthusiasts throughout the entire season.
We appreciate and thank the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to protect and support Pennsylvania’s outdoor recreation and help maintain strong winter tourism in Pennsylvania.
Please join us in co-sponsoring this resolution to designate January 2020 as “Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month” in Pennsylvania.
