|Subject:||National Cybersecurity Awareness Month|
|The online world is constantly at our disposal through our phones, tablets and computers. This connection provides opportunities for innovation and modernization. However, this same constant connection increases potential cybersecurity threats, which can compromise our most important personal information. It has never been more vital that we ensure all Pennsylvanians are doing everything they can to protect against cybersecurity threats.
For this reason, I will be introducing a resolution designating October as National Cybersecurity Awareness Month in Pennsylvania. The theme for this year’s observance is: Own IT. Secure IT. Protect IT., which emphasizes the role each individual plays in online safety. We must also stress the importance of taking proactive steps to enhance cybersecurity at our homes and workplaces.
I ask that you support this legislation and join me in bringing cybersecurity awareness to the forefront in Pennsylvania and protect our workplaces, homes, and families.
