Subject: | Local Regulation of Firearms |
In June 2019, six people were shot and one was killed in a shooting at a graduation party in a park in Philadelphia. Additionally, in November 2018, a man was shot and killed in a municipal building in Monroe County, PA. We must not sit idly by as Pennsylvanians are at risk of gun violence in public buildings and parks throughout the state. For this reason, I will introduce companion legislation to Senator Maria Collett’s SB 625 to permit local governments to regulate firearms on public property. The bill will enable local governments to fully respond to the needs of their residents and to save lives. Please join me in empowering local governments to better protect our communities from gun violence. Thank you. |
