| Think for a moment of the amount of records and reports generated in just one session day at the House of Representatives – committee reports, member files and administrative records. When considered together, those documents can provide us with a rich historical record of the workings of our Commonwealth going back decades. The House of Representatives Archives has, for the past 40 years, assumed the work of collecting, cataloguing and maintaining these valuable windows into the past. In recognition of the hard work and dedication of House Archives staff and the importance of their efforts to members, staff and the public, I am again introducing a resolution to designate November 2019 as Archives Month in Pennsylvania. It is my hope that members and staff will take this opportunity to explore committee records dating back to 1971, House member biographies stretching as far back as 1858 and a variety of oral history interviews. Please join me in recognizing the invaluable contributions of the House of Representatives Archives and its committed staff members. |
