Subject: Designating November 2019 as "Assistive Technology Month"
 
I am planning to introduce a resolution designating the month of November 2019 as "Assistive Technology Awareness Month" in Pennsylvania.

An assistive technology device is any item, piece of equipment or product system, whether acquired commercially, modified or customized, that is used to increase, maintain or improve the functional capabilities of older citizens or individuals with disabilities . These, in addition to the support of assistive technology services, empower those whom they serve to control their lives and their futures.

Please join me in recognizing the importance of assistive technology devices and services by cosponsoring this resolution. Together, we can encourage all citizens to investigate and acquire tools that will contribute to the health, happiness, and independence of our families, friends, and neighbors.
