Subject: October 13-19, 2019 as International Central Service Week
 
I will soon be introducing a Resolution to recognize International Central Service Week in Pennsylvania as October 13-19, 2019.

The central service department at a healthcare facility is responsible for cleaning, assembling, sterilizing, storing, and distributing the medical devices and supplies needed for patient care. Central service technicians ensure the medical staff in operating rooms, ICUs, endoscopy suites, birth centers, and other patient care areas receive sterile surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment that is integral in providing the best possible patient care. Their commitment to maintaining high standards of sanitation is crucial in keeping Pennsylvanians safe at healthcare facilities.

Please join me by cosponsoring this Resolution to recognize the important role central service departments play in providing care to Pennsylvanians.
