Subject: | Pennsylvania Pharmacists and Pharmacy Month (October 2019) |
With the current opioid crisis reaching epidemic proportions, many health care professionals are doing their best to reduce substance abuse and help propagate change. Among those involved are licensed pharmacists. Today, there is an estimated 23,394 licensed pharmacists in Pennsylvania. These pharmacists work tirelessly to help improve the usage of medication and advance patient care in all practice settings. By instructing and assisting citizens on the proper usage of medication, these pharmacists are saving lives and helping Pennsylvania fight the opioid epidemic. In an effort to thank all of our pharmacists and pharmacies for their contributions across the Commonwealth, I will be introducing a resolution to designate the month of October 2019 as “Pennsylvania Pharmacists and Pharmacy Month.” Please join me in supporting this resolution. |
