|Subject:||Resolution - Honoring Philadelphia's Police Department|
|On Wednesday, August 14, 2019, members of the Philadelphia Police Department’s 39th District attempted to serve a narcotic warrant in the Nicetown neighborhood of the city. During this effort, six officers were shot by a gunman and endured an almost eight-hour long standoff before the suspect surrendered to the police.
I intend to honor the City of Philadelphia’s police department with a resolution for their magnificent efforts in keeping my legislative district safe from harm and reacting coolly under pressure to a horrifying situation. The mere fact that no civilians, including the gunman, were injured during these tumultuous hours is nothing short of astounding.
Please join me in honoring these brave officers by cosponsoring this resolution. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact my office at (717) 772-9920.
