Subject:	Resolution - Honoring Philadelphia's Police Department

On Wednesday, August 14, 2019, members of the Philadelphia Police Department’s 39th District attempted to serve a narcotic warrant in the Nicetown neighborhood of the city. During this effort, six officers were shot by a gunman and endured an almost eight-hour long standoff before the suspect surrendered to the police. I intend to honor the City of Philadelphia’s police department with a resolution for their magnificent efforts in keeping my legislative district safe from harm and reacting coolly under pressure to a horrifying situation. The mere fact that no civilians, including the gunman, were injured during these tumultuous hours is nothing short of astounding.
