Subject: | Resolution designating July 17, 2019 as “Hot Dog Day” |
Hot dogs are one of America’s favorite and most patriotic foods. The American cultural melting pot brought together sausage-makers and bakers from the Old World to give us the hot dog on a bun as we know it. In addition, U.S. meat and poultry processors produce more than two billion pounds of hot dogs each year, employing over 325,000 workers. There are many Pennsylvania companies that create delicious hot dogs, which contributes to Philadelphia’s role as one of the nation’s top hot dog-consuming cities. Please join me in celebrating “Hot Dog Day” in Pennsylvania and showing our appreciation of this icon of American and Pennsylvanian culinary culture. Thank you for your consideration. |
