|Subject:||Performing Arts Facility Liquor Hours|
|Performing arts facilities provide the unique opportunity to enjoy various forms of art through theatre, music and dance. While presenting these performances, many facilities are licensed to sell alcohol to consume during the show. However, unlike other licensed establishments who through recent legislative changes were awarded the opportunity to open earlier, performing arts facilities are still prohibited from selling alcohol prior to 1:00 pm on Sundays.
As such, my legislation would adjust the operating hours for performing arts facilities to begin selling alcohol on Sunday from 1:00 pm to 10:00 am to better accommodate the various show times which often begin prior to 1:00. There are currently 95 active and pending Performing Arts Facility licensees statewide that would benefit from this change.
Please consider joining me in co-sponsoring this legislation and supporting our performing arts facilities statewide.
