Subject: | September 2019 as “Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Awareness Month” |
Polycystic ovarian syndrome is a hormonal disorder that affects as many as five million women in the United States. This disease can cause irregular ovulation or even infertility and makes women more susceptible to serious conditions such as heart disease and diabetes. While the cause of polycystic ovarian syndrome is unknown, most experts believe that several factors, including genetics, could play a role. To raise awareness of this disease and support women with polycystic ovarian syndrome, I will be introducing a resolution recognizing September 2019 as “Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Awareness Month” in Pennsylvania. I hope you will join me in this effort. Thank you for your consideration. |
