Subject: | New License Plate Legislation #2 |
In the near future, I plan to introduce three separate bills to make the choices of license plates more attractive and give PennDOT more revenue from the sales of these plates. Bill #2: US Semiquincentennial Plate: My legislation would instruct PennDOT to create a unique design, similar to the very popular Bicentennial Plate that was the state’s general issuance plate in the mid 70’s. This plate would include the phrase, “Let Freedom Ring- 250 years”. This plate would be $50 in addition to regular registration fees as well and could also be personalized for an additional $100. The colors of red, white and blue would replace the standard Pennsylvania “family of plates” blue, gold and white. The actual design would be in cooperation of the House and Senate Transportation Committees and PennDOT and the governor’s office. This plate would be issued in 2020 through 2026. |
Introduced as HB1710
