MEMORANDUM

Posted: March 19, 2019 12:17 PM
From: Representative Matthew D. Dowling
To: All House members
Subject: Sunday Sports & Activities Repeal-Act 49 of 1933

Our Commonwealth has thousands of regulations on the books. Many of these acts were enacted several decades ago and are simply archaic and are no longer applicable in the 21st century. In addition, the existence of these outdated laws contributes to the already complex and confusing nature of government.

To help clean up our laws, I plan to introduce legislation that will repeal the following antiquated act:

1. Act 49 of 1933: Prohibits individuals and associations from playing or engaging in baseball or football games before 2:00 pm, and after 6:00 pm on Sundays.

Please join me in co-sponsoring this bill to provide the citizens of this Commonwealth with a more transparent and streamlined rule of law.

Introduced as HB1174
