Subject: PA Brewery Tax Reform
 
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation regarding the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue Tax Bulletin Sales and Use Tax 2018-02.

As many of you may be aware, on July 27th, 2018, the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue put out a tax bulletin requiring our Pennsylvania breweries to collect the state’s 6% sales tax on every portion sold (pints, growlers, etc.). The application of this tax is set to go into effect July 1st, 2019. I strongly believe that this taxation will negatively impact our local breweries, while stifling a growing industry that provides thousands of jobs for our local communities.

My legislation will seek to address this taxation to protect our local breweries.
