Subject: Proposed Resolution- "National Poetry Month"
 
I am planning to introduce a resolution recognizing the month of April 2019 as "National Poetry Month."
"National Poetry Month" seeks to highlight the extraordinary legacy and ongoing achievement of American poets, introduces Americans to the pleasure and benefits of reading poetry, brings poets and poetry to the public in immediate and innovative ways and makes poetry an important part of our children's education.

"National Poetry Month" , under the leadership and direction of the Academy Poets, is now the largest literary celebration in the world.

Please join me in recognizing April 2019 as "National Poetry Month."
