MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 21, 2019 09:00 AM
From: Representative Joseph A. Petrarca
To: All House members
Subject: State of the Child legislation

The Auditor General recently authored a report on the State of the Child in Pennsylvania which made a number of recommendations on how to better protect children from neglect and abuse.

One of these recommendations was to ensure that Children and Youth Services caseworkers had unfettered access to all records concerning a child. A child’s medical and scholastic records provide a more complete picture for a caseworker on what may be happening in a child’s life.

Please help me provide all necessary information to these caseworkers to make the best decisions they can for these at risk kids.

Introduced as HB835
