MEMORANDUM

Posted: February 13, 2019 11:28 AM
From: Representative Neal P. Goodman
To: All House members
Subject: Increase Pension for Blind, Amputee, and Paralyzed Veterans

To honor Pennsylvania veterans who suffer service-connected injuries leading to blindness, paralysis, or loss of limbs, our Commonwealth provides a monthly pension of $150. It is the least we can do to honor the sacrifice of these veterans.

However, the state's Blind, Amputee, and Paralyzed Veterans pension has not increased in 20 years. These veterans have sacrificed so much for our country, and they have more than earned this small monthly stipend to help them with expenses. It is time we increased this pension. That is why I am introducing legislation to increase the monthly pension to $200 per month.

Please help me honor these veterans by sponsoring this legislation.

Introduced as HB1199
